Social Action Story 1.17.13

Chapter 1
The Problem .._..

Ashton ran as fast as he could trying to get away from the pack of bullies chasing him. He knew he would get the worse if they would catch him, and it would not be good. Ashton takes a sharp turn around the house he was currently running next to, hoped onto a tree and scrambled high up. The group of kids turned around the corner and looked around for him. Then Ashton slipped and made a small yelp as he caught himself from falling. By then they obviously knew where he was.
They started to climb up tree after him, but only with their leader’s command. His name was Bread. The biggest, baddest bully around. He watched, as Ashon's heart skipped a beat. He knew he was doomed.
His thoughts were racing as he climbed higher, out of their reach. Then he realized he could climb on the roof. He jumped, but slipped and grabbed onto the edge. They made it too the top and were reaching out towards him, he noticed Bread had gone and then noticed someone on the roof. He thought it was Bread, so he half let go of the edge and half fell. Then soft hands grabbed his. They obviously weren't Bread’s. He looked up and it was Zach. He realized he was at Zach’s house.
Zach pulled her up and the one of the kids started to climb but fell. His bright blue shirt had a little red spot on it, and he realized he had a bad cut on his hand. Then she remembered Bread was wearing a blue shirt. He stood up and left. His “friends” followed. Zach led Ashton through an open window, on level with the roof, and into the house.

.._..

They were in the kitchen drinking tea. Zach asked what had happened.
"I don't know. I was just walking home from school when Bread jumped out of nowhere and yelled 'GET HER!' and I just ran."
"Where's all your stuff?"
"I've got no homework today."
"Lucky. I do."
Zach grabbed his gray backpack and pulled out an unsharpened pencil and a pencil sharpener.
"Can you sharpen this?"
"Can I? Yes. May I?-"
"Yes." Zach cut Ashley off and handed it to her,
"Here."
"Fine"
Ashley took the small sharpener and pencil and started to sharpen it. Zach took out a big, heavy red book with a red rosé on the front. Ashley gave him the pencil and he started writing as he said quietly "Thanks."

.._..

Ashley lay on her bed in silence and her mom yells from below.
"DINER!"
"I'll be there in a second!" Ashley yells back.
Ashley gets up, and walks down her carpet-covered stairs. It felt soft on her bare feet. She sat down on the chair she always sits at at dinner. She started eating while her moms favorite show started, "Wheel... of... FORTUNE!!" The TV announced. Ashley was very hungry after she had been chased. She ate her Caesar Salad, and gobbled up her nice juicy steak. She got up to leave the table when her mother called,
"Ashley, put your dishes in the sink."
"Fine," Ashley said as she rolled her eyes.

Chapter Two
The Realization.._..

After Ashley had put away her dishes, she was in her room reading her book, "The Steak Hunt," a book that only relates to the title at the beginning of the book, and the end, but you didn't get it until the end of the book. It's one of Ashley's favorite books, and its her third time reading it. She liked how the main character, Abigail, had lived on a farm and nobody but her neighbors knew or cared about her. Then she had a chance to go to the BIG city of New York. She went there and noticed how everybody wore fancy or business clothes. She had instead if just visiting there, her and her family moved there for a couple of months. While she was there she noticed that people made fun of her clothes and how she talked. Then she realized everyone else wore different stuff. While people were laughing at her in the halls at her school. She told turned, walked up to the real fast and said "I don't understand why you have to say my clothes looks funny when your buddy there," she pointed at one of the kids, "Has a completely different style of clothes then you. It's natural for people to be different so why do I have to be made fun of. Why don't you just make fun of best friend instead of me or least think twice about say!" She stormed off and got lost in the crowd of people.
Since there, whispers, rumors and jokes spread like wild fires, no one ever made fun of her again. In fact, they thought she was brave for standing up to one of biggest bully in the school. She goes back there every year, and that bully, Rebeca, is Abigail's best friend.
As Ashley lay in bed, trying to go sleep while think of how horrible the next day would be. She somehow got to the point where she was thinking of the book she had just been reading. THAT'S IT!! I can do what Abigail did in the story and maybe people might understand. Then she dozed off to sleep.

.._..

She woke up to an annoying scratch at her door. She looked at her clock. It was 3:27. 'Why. Why does have to wake me up now.' she thought. She walked through her room in the pitch black. She could barley see, but she could see well enough to navigate. She opened up the door and her little Cuddlepants walked in the room. She got back in bed and Cuddlepants probably went under her bed. After about a minute, Cuddlepants jumped on to the bed, curled up at the foot of the bed
and Cuddlepants out her paws on Ashley's feet. They both dozed off.

When the alarm went off, Cuddlepants ran out of the room and Ahsley jumped up and shut it off. She turned on her light and her room rid of the moonlight glow and picked up a nice dim yellow one. It hurt her eyes to look around she looked down instead and made her way across the room, got dressed in the clothes everyone seems to hate, and made her way down the stairs.
She quickly ate her breakfast, made her lunch and packed her bag. She had completely forgot of her idea last night. The only she could think of was catching the bus. She put on her coat and hat, said bye to her mom and dad, picked up her backpack and walked out the door, across the street, down the road and to her bus stop, and waited and waited and waited until it finially got there. She waited on the bus for an eternity and she finially got to school.
She said wave goodbye to the cheese-bus (that's what she calls it, becuase its yellow like cheese) and went inside.

.._..

So far she has not seen Bread, 'I hope he's not coming to school' She thought 'If he does, I'll be angry,' She had a reputation of not getting messed with because she beat anybody up in a second, but then Bread hides behind his gang and it becomes a hole different story. She doesn't know what she'll do about Bread, because one guy is easy, 16 or what ever is alot harder.
