Getting a writing habit helps a lot and is as good as reading. Vise Versa. It helps you feel good about yourself and also gives you something to do. So thats why sustaining a writing habit is good.

Sustaining a writing habit, and having good English skills will help you get a better job, because you will be able to communicate better. It may also help you to get a good job like an author or a journalist. And then maybe you might become a world-wide known person and makes lots of money.
English (or any other language) is in every job, that's for sure. And if you have a writing habit, then it will help in that job. In any job. In every job! So writing helps a lot.
Another thing writing can do is help you express your emotions. If you write you can express them in your writing, and no one will think it is real if it is private, they'll probably just think its fiction. Or something that you made up.
