I'm Afraid This is Goodbye... Thursday, June 12th, 2014

I'm afraid this will be my last post... ever... in the school year. But then there's summer, so who cares!! I was going to write about something, but I have decided not to so I don't know why I'm still typing this, but whatever.

Well, I finally have my firs debit card!! Technically! And it only works at Starbucks. But (w)hatever, I don't really care, it still counts. Yeah...

Well I hope you all have a wonderful summer, and I'll hopefully keep you guys, the people reading my blog, posted on what's going on.

Sincerely,
Simon

P.S. Peace out.

LOOK WHAT I FOUND!! 6-9-14 Edition____Year Round Schools 1.15.14-Draft

Michigan's should NOT go on to a year-round school schedule, because they would end up learning less. The year-round schools give kids too much stress, and makes it hard for them to work for a long time. And the more vacations allow more chances to forget classes, though the traditional schedule has less vacations, meaning less chances to forget.
Lots of people don't go on vacation during the school year, because they will miss a lot of work, and have to make it up, so that's why lots of people go on vacation over the summer, because then they don't need make-up work. Another thing is Summer Camp. Lots of kids go to summer camp, so they can learn more on a topic in school, like music camps, or art camps and lots of other things, like math camp. Kids also like to be on a swim team, but that wouldn't be possible if there was a year round schedule.

Blood on the River:
Literary Essay by:
Simon Oliver Stevens

(Claim)
“I take another deep breath. My anger is focused. I have made a decision. I have a plan. I believe Reverend Hunt would approve-I have made this decision out of love.
I am going to steal a baby.”
This is quote out of Blood on the River, Chapter Twenty-Five, page 208. It helps support my claim that 'Samuel has found a new family, and he very dearly cares for them.'

(Reasons)
(Reason 1) “I take another deep breath. My anger is focused. I have made a decision. I have a plan. I believe Reverend Hunt would approve-I have made this decision out of love.
I am going to steal a baby.”
One reason, Sam steals Ann's baby, Virginia, and brings her to Point Comfort, is to force Ann and John Laydon to follow him to Point Comfort, because he wants them to be safer. Sam does this because he believes that Point Comfort will be much safer than the palisade, which it ends up being.

(Reason 2) Another reason, of why I think my claim is genuine, is that, in the book, it says “After she heard what happened to Captain Ratcliffe, Ann begged Captain Davies to retract my sentence,” (Page #216). Ann does this, I think, because Sam is the people of Point Comfort's only chance to survive. Another reason I think Ann did this, is because Sam was like a son to Ann and John.
(Reason 3)

(Conclusion)
In conclusion, any of Samuel's intentions, we meant to help his new family, because he loved his new family, because he had been an orphan for most of his life, and he finally found a family that he loved, so he didn't want them to get hurt and die, so he was trying to help them, which, in the end, he ended up doing.

5/29/14 AHW

So I was browsing iFunny, you know, just, toodle-a-doo, when all of the sudden I see this post, and its about this cat, who everyone in the neighbourhood called ugly. It has scars everywhere and was missing an eye and a tail and its legs were messed up. Everyone was doing cruel things to it. Then one day, this guy hears the cat shrieking and this dog growling, and so the guy runs all the way down his stairs and he finds the cat on the ground, dieing ;(, and so he picks it up, and after all of that torture, all it had wanted was some affection. And it made me so sad happy.

Blood on the River:
Literary Essay by:

(Claim)
My claim for Blood on the River is that, Samuel found a new family.

(Reasons)
(Reason 1) One reason, Sam steals Ann's baby, Virginia, and brings her to Point Comfort, to make Ann and John Laydon to come to Point Comfort, because he wants Ann to be safe, because Sam beilieves that Point Comfort will be safer, which it ends up being.
(Reason 2) Another reason, of why I think my claim is ____, is that, in the book, it says “After she,” being Ann “heard what happened to Captain Ratcliffe, Ann begged Captain Davies to retract my sentance,” (Page #216) and Ann does this because, I think, because Sam is the only one with the beeds, and the people of Point Comfort's only chance to survive. Another reason I think Ann did this, is because Sam was like a son to Ann and John.

At-Home Writing May 27th, 2014

After watching Hunter's Video today, I am now trying to get Mac OS X Mavericks onto a Virtual Box (a virtual Operating System) on my Ubuntu System, on my laptop.

So, I was reading outside in the rain earlier tonight, and it was pretty fun. So I got my Watch_Dogs Season Pass and GameStop extra add-on for my Xbox One today, but sill, no Watch_Dogs has come in yet. The guy at GameStop said that it's cheaper for the company to send the game straight from the warehouse to the costumers, rather than having the store as the middle man. So I'm still waiting.

I'm thinking about extending my Ubuntu Partition, but there are some problems with it, so I don't thinks it perfect yet with my computer. Besides, I won't be needing that much room yet, and if I do, its fairly easy.

So that's my At-Home Writing for the day. Check back tomorrow for anything else I might be up to, or some news on what’s happening already.

Sincerely,
Simon

AHW 5/22/14

So, I am running an experiment for Android KitKat, and I'm making a partition (a seperate section of a memory device, ex. Hard Drive or Solid State Drive) for 20 Gigabytes. I'm going to install Android on it, and test it out, and if I like it, and am okay with 20GB of space, I'll keep it, but only if it works, which it should.

If I keep it, it turns into a tri-boot, which is very dangerous, and confusing, but I'll figure it out, I'm still going to try to install Mac OS X, creating a quad-boot, which might be a maze to get to each partition, but may be pretty simple if I install a Hackintosh (what a computer is called when it has Mac OS but isn't a Macintosh itself) boot-loader (a program that easily selects different boot-able partitions) and hopefully it'll selectthe four different boot-able partitions, which would be pretty cool, but I think I'm going to hold off on the Hackintosh/Mac OS X idea for now, because a lot of the times the drivers don't work, and you need special programs to make them work, so for now, just Winodws 8.1 and Ubuntu, and maybe Android KitKat.

UPDATE: 2 O'Clock
So, Android failed, it was not recongized as boot-able through my flash drive. SO for now, I'm just going to stick with my fabulous dual-boot for, and do some research on Hackintosh, so I can install the correct drivers, and make sure its touchscreen compatible.

Another thing, one of the laptops Mr. Joseph had me bring home, I feel that if I upgrade the RAM to a Gigabyte or two, it should be able to run Ubuntu, the other one, the smaller WinBook, is a no go, and will probably have to be re-installed with Vista, or XP (ugh), on it.

In other news, I'm going to save up money to buy somethings on eBay, a screw-driver, and gameboy cartridge battery and a new laptop charger, and some awesome headphones (SkullCandy's), and then a nice Android Tablet, so that I can put Ubuntu on it, which looks really nice on a tablet. Maybe when the new Windows Surface Pro III comes out, that too, but currently, after I get the headphones, I'm gonna be working the money game.
